DEL AOP® is dramatically more powerful than Chlorine and other sanitizers, and even more powerful than Ozone alone. In AOP systems, the highly unstable hydroxyl free radicals react with dissolved waterborne contaminants in a series of strong oxidation reactions. This process happens almost instantaneously.
AOP systems also destroy and prevent chloramines—formed when chlorine reacts with sweat or urine—that cause “pool smell”, eye, and skin irritations which dramatically increases water clarity and improves the pool experience.
Advanced Sanitizer are Powerful
Advanced Sanitizers are excellent for destroying or inactivating dangerous contaminants that can be present in any backyard pool. They are effective on microorganisms, viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. Chlorine can also be slow to work, and it's effectiveness is lowered by the presences of chloramines and unbalanced pool water. Advanced sanitizers break down chloramines and work in a wide pH range.

The Science of AOP
When germicidal UV Light (UV-C) and ozone react, the result is the production of hydroxyle radicals. The reaction is known as Advanced Oxidation Process, or AOP
Hydroxyl radicals (OH) are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water. Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptospordium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli.
